Anyone interested volunteering? We welcome your participation. Individuals can just show up at our work site and ask to see the person in charge. For group volunteering we'll need some advance notice so we can plan. More volunteering information...
Volunteer work this year is at our building site in Oneonta (36 West Broadway). Directions to the site are below.
Our scheduled work hours for volunteers are 8:30AM to 4:00PM on Thursdays and Saturdays. Lunch is normally provided on Saturdays only, so bring a brown bag on Thursdays.
Volunteers must personally sign-in at the work site each day in order to be covered by our insurance. The insurance waiver form is HERE.
The porch railings were completed and the cellar stairs were started. The landscaping was completed with gravel laid down under the eaves and grass seed sown and mulched. The driveway was covered with Item 4 mix. Door bells were installed and a load of cardboard was taken for recycling. A load of tools and supplies was also taken to the pole barn. More cleaning up was done. The walk-thru was done by the Hughs and Bartleson families.
This coming week we will be working on the cellar stairs and cleaning up.
Footer forms were completed and the concrete was poured by Oneonta Job Corps Academy ((OJCA).
This coming week the foundations forms will be started by OJCA.
From the center of Oneonta, travel West down Main Street, over the railroad tracks, then turn right on River Street at the bottom of the hill. Proceed down River Street to the first School Zone and turn right at the traffic light onto Wilcox Ave going North toward the railroad tracks. Then turn left onto West Broadway, and continue down past the 6th Ward Athletic Club on the right until you come to #36, which is also on the right. There is no street number there, but you know you have gone too far when you see #38.
